Women's Paclite® Pants

TGO, November 2007

These tick all the usual Paclite boxes…this is a cracking pair of pants. The three-quarter length zip can be used as a vent top and bottom, with a stud at kness height to restrict gaping if the zips are fully undone. The hem has two studs, but no elastication, so it drapes well over a boot or shoe. That lovely long zip means the trousers can be quickly pulled on and off without removing footwear. Knees are articulated and movement is easy. Short and regular leg options contribute to making these a top choice.

Women's Lhotse

Country Walking, October 2007

Comfort & Fit: 10/10
A perfect fit for me with good length arms and flattering, contoured body. The stretch fleece thumb loops (stitched into the cuffs) were really useful on cold days and the snug collar also provided extra warmth when required. Although  found the fabric quite warm, on colder days I was glad of the extra insulation not offered bu the Vaude. The handwarmer pockets are a decent size and well placed to get to with a rucksack on.

Performance: 9/10
The Lhotse performed brilliantly with a fleece lining that made it warmer than the Vaude, but not unbearably so, and offering better breathability than the Columbia. Water resistance is also good. The stretch thumb loops are an added bonus in the cold and can be tucked away when not in use. I love the simple design of this jacket and it only lost a mark because the cuffs wouldn’t roll up. The fabric proved very hard-wearing during the test. Expensive, but well worth the money.
